Too Far Down by Mary Connealy

TOO FAR DOWN

Author(s):
Connealy opens her third and final installment of the Cimarron Legacy series with a bang — four consecutive explosions to be exact. This final installment ties everything up nicely; not only the mystery in this book but also the ongoing mystery from the prior two books, too. In this page-turner we encounter distrust, contemplation, discovery and a re-awareness of God's blessings. Characters from the past two books make appearances as do characters from the author’s other series. Recommended for those who enjoy a fast, smart historical-set suspense.
Cole is the oldest of the Boden children and is not only in charge of his family's mining company, CR Mining, but he also feels responsible for helping his brother and sister take care of the family ranch while their father is away recovering from a planned "accident." More people die and Cole is determined to finally discover who is behind all the terrors his family has faced. First, he must make sure the mine is covered. Cole's longtime neighbor Melanie Blake has offered to help fill the mine vacancies until the danger has passed. They discover a surprising fact that could put them in even more danger. Will they find the culprit before another "accident" occurs? (BETHANY HOUSE, Oct., 320 pp., $14.99)

Third Strand of the Cord by Catherine Richmond

Third Strand of the Cord

4.8 out of 5 stars
Third Strand of the Cord: A Novel of Love in Liberty by [Richmond, Catherine]An amazingly refreshing, original novel unlike anything I've read. Hilariously entertaining and really sucks you in by giving you the characters thoughts in a way that most Christian authors don't but that in real life, we have even when we shouldn't. We see the struggle to rely on God and how he overcomes all and how God uses other people to shine His light when there is darkness and confusion.

Caroline, a Ford Motors Engineer and single mother, has a difficult, energetic, 7 year old son with Down Syndrome who had left her husband when he attempted to strangle her 2 months after the baby's birth due to his handicap. Mr. Lee is a homeless karate instructor who works with homeless shelters, disabled kids and others and feels that you need to parent with a firm hand, even though he has no children of his own. When the father runs for office, he tries to make Caroline look like a kidnapper and receive custody over the son he never wanted. Will Caroline join forces with Lee before she loses her son and possibly her life or will she shelter herself from further heartbreak?

Love's Sacrifice by Kelsey Norman

LOVE'S SACRIFICE

Author(s):
Image of Love's Sacrifice (Mystic Hope Book 2)
Norman begins this sequel with a bang and keeps the fast pace until the end. Heart-pounding violent dreams plague our main character. Norman write great descriptive scenes that come to life, and characterization that leaves you with a clear character voice. Written in the first-person limited point of view with italic thoughts throughout, this is an outstanding Christian paranormal romance. Discretion is advised due to violence. While this book can be read as a stand-alone novel, you get a better experience after having read the first book. Recommended for fans of romance with a paranormal twist.

dangerous situation, God makes amazing things happen even in the face of tragedy. Written in the third person limited point-of-view, we follow the two main' characters in this moderate to fast-paced, exciting, page-turning tale of love and heartache, showing the real struggles of what Frontier life in the West was like back in the 1800’s. This is book 1 of 2 in the Front Range Bride series that will stay with you well after the book is over. The author ties everything up but leaves us wanting more, by providing no epilogue, in anticipation of what is to come with book 2. Recommended for those who love a historical romance with a bit of mystery thrown in.

Together Forever by Jody Hedlund (Orphan Train Series-book 2)

Together Forever (Orphan Train Book #2) by [Hedlund, Jody]An amazingly accurate telling of what it was like for orphans as well as the agents in charge of orphans back in the 1800's. This book will make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. Along the way, God helps them all through the ups and downs of travelling via steam rail from NYC to Illinois. We encounter a tragic accident that, only with the grace of God can be overcome. Through the uncertainty, hurts, fears, laughter and tears, Marianne and Drew band together to love the orphans and help to secure them a better life then living on the street of NYC.

I read this as a standalone even though this is technically book 2 of the Orphan Train series. Book 1 followed Marianne's older sister. The author gave us just enough background to understand some of what took place in book 1. We are also left with some cliff-hangers to gear us up for book 3 that will be released in December 2018 (Sophie's story). If you can, read them in order; if not, this is a wonderful book you won't want to put down.

This book will draw you in and dig down deep into your heart.
