Now and Forever by Mary Connealy (Review)

"Matt rounded a curve as tight as dark curls-and stomped on the toe of a bear cub. A squall drew his eyes down. A roar dragged them up... that was so careless and stupid he almost deserved to die."

Matthew Tucker is a trapping, mountain man who swears he will never get married. He is a white man raised by Indians and saw what a trapper lifestyle did to the woman who raised him. He officially meets Shannon when falling down a mountain after being almost attacked by a bear. Shannon tries to save them by throwing them off a cliff into a rapid river with waterfalls. After being gone for 5 days, they are forced into marriage. Many troubles await them at every turn but peace in God is just around the corner if they just reach for it. Shannon and her sisters have internal battles to overcome as well due to their fathers insistence that they pose as men and previously fought in the war. Shannon having been first a soldier and then a medic.

This is the second book of Mary Coneally's Wild at Heart series. Written in the third person omniscient view. Our author writes amazing Christian Romance novels with just the right amount of twists and turns and mystery to keep you wanting to know what happens next. Even though this is the second book, the characters are well defined so you get a true feeling for who they are. There are a great many personal conflicts in this novel and you feel what Matt and Shannon feel toward certain characters.

I would absolutely recommend this book, as well as any book written by Mary Connealy. I have read many books by her and she never disappoints. I can not wait for the next book, about Bailey, to come out. 4 out of 5 stars. Totally Christian approved.

From the back cover:
Saddle up for romance and adventure with the Wilde sisters!

Shannon Wilde is the middle sister--and the one who loves animals. She's established her own homestead and is raising sheep for their wool. Things are going fine...until Shannon gets swept over a cliff by Matthew Tucker!

Tucker seizes every opportunity to get away from civilization, but one particular walk in the woods ends with him sprinting away from an angry grizzly and plunging into a raging river, accidentally taking Shannon Wilde with him. Their adventure in the wilderness results in the solitary mountain man finding himself hitched to a young woman with a passel of relatives, a homestead, and a flock of sheep to care for.

As Tucker and Shannon learn to live with each other, strange things begin to happen on Shannon's land. Someone clearly wants to drive her off, but whoever it is apparently didn't count on Tucker. Trying to scare Matthew Tucker just makes him mad--and trying to hurt the woman he's falling in love with sets off something even he never expected.
