Inside Out Movie (Review)

We see Riley as a new born baby and we meet Joy who is inside Riley's head. We then meet the others inside Riley's head and how each of these voices control Riley's emotions, Fear, Anger, Disgust, Sadness and of course Joy. We see Riley grow up and have mostly good days, or as Joy likes to say, "another perfect day."

Riley's family needs to move and the little voices fight for control over Riley's emotions. One day Sadness begins to touch Riley's memory marbles and makes the happy memories into sad memories. Joy tries to control everything going on and her and Sadness end up getting sucked into the Long Term Memory tube. This puts Riley into a mental break down but in the end they all learn to work together and realize that you can have memories that are a combination of emotions, like happy tears and that it is all right to cry sometimes and to express your true feelings instead of putting on a happy face.

I would recommend this movie to all ages. Be aware that if you bring small children, there is a very big clown that makes a very loud noise and can scare kids during one brief part. Joy and Sadness will wake the clown up, so when you see him sleeping, you can put your hands over your child's ears if loud noises frighten. 4 out of 5 stars. Christian approved.

Movie Description:
After young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.
